After finishing the leadership course, it was straight back into work as we headed to Oswestry to photograph the Fox Inn Joules pub, right in the heart of town. This 15th-century pub is looking for a new landlord, and our task was simple but important: capture the venue before opening hours and get the images to Joules as quickly as possible so they could start generating interest.

We arrived at 10am and immediately got to work. Adelina took charge of the camera while I handled aerial shots with the drone. Despite being a small pub inside, the exterior courtyard is huge—perfect for live bands, sports events, and outdoor gatherings. The setup is smart too, with an outdoor bar so guests don’t even have to leave their seats to grab a drink. It’s a cracking little venue, full of potential, just waiting for the right team to bring it to life.

The shoot itself was a smooth, energizing process. The courtyard caught the morning light beautifully, and the combination of wide-angle and aerial shots really captured the pub’s charm and versatility. By the time we wrapped, we had everything we needed to tell the story of this unique space.

Back home, it was straight into editing. We worked quickly to ensure the Joules brand team had the images ready by Sunday, perfectly timed for the start of the new business week. Seeing the photos go live and start generating interest reminded us why we love capturing venues like this—there’s something satisfying about helping a place with so much character find its next chapter.
